Merchant Funds

Merchant Funds are any monies belonging to a business that sells goods or services that are not immediately available to them including:

1. Money set aside to cover potential losses
2. Deposits made by merchants
3. Funds that are temporarily held or suspended
4. Any other accounts or money belonging to merchants

These funds might be held by the company giving the loan, its related companies, or other outside parties. The key point is that this money technically belongs to the merchants but isn’t in their direct control now.
